It’s fascinating to see what different people find easy and what they find challenging. For example, finding time to stretch after a workout? Ridiculously hard for me to do. But making a point to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day? Nothing could be easier.
I’m rarely without a glass of water handy, but even so, every once in a while I miss that old 3 p.m. soda that I used to love so much, even though that habit has been broken for more than a year or two at this point. So, it’s rather fortunate that I keep coming upon delicious alternatives that even have some health benefits. You might have already seen a few of my favorite flavored waters, and my most recent healthy obsession is pretty miraculous.
Little Miracles (available in 12-packs on Amazon) is a USDA-Certified Organic brand of blended tea, panax ginseng, açaí and fruit juice that comes in four flavors (Lemongrass Tea and Ginseng, Black Tea and Peach, Green Tea and Pomegranate, or White Tea and Cherry), each designed to provide you with a little extra energy — naturally. Each flavor has less than 90 calories, and is free of artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners (they use organic agave).
They’re touted as organic energy drinks, which, initially, turned me off a bit — aside from coffee, tea or the occasional Coke, I’m not one for actual energy drinks. But the flavors and the ingredients intrigued me enough to give them a try, and oh, I’m glad I did.
Each of these flavors is beyond enjoyable. They’re subtly sweet but full of flavor, they’re refreshing and so, so easy to sip on. And do they give me a boost? A little bit, yes. I wouldn’t expect it to, say, take the place of a mid-afternoon coffee, exactly, but they certainly help me perk up.
What do you drink for a boost of energy? Tea? Coffee? Energy drinks? Or are you really just naturally that perky? Tell me your secrets! —Kristen
